Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Daiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frito Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Daiz was well out of range. Poor timing from Lei.
Daiz goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Daiz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lei is trying to defend but Daiz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Daiz is looking to take a break and control but Lei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Daiz is really struggling to control Lei but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Daiz is stalling here. Lei is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Daiz seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lei has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Daiz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lei tries to stand but can't do so whilst Daiz controls his leg.
Daiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lei wants to stand but Daiz has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Lei prevents Daiz from improving his position.
Lei tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Daiz regains full guard. Nicely done.

Lei wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Daiz's closed guard. He's half up but Daiz has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Daiz pivots and extends the arm, Lei falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Daiz! Well done that man!
