The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnoff lands a jab-cross combination.
tryin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
tryin tries to clinch there but Smirnoff circles away.
tryin wants to clinch.
tryin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smirnoff throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
tryin tries to close the distance and clinch but Smirnoff swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

tryin is working an open guard so Smirnoff takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

tryin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and tryin manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
tryin is staying tight to Smirnoff's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Smirnoff dodges the ground and pound from tryin.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

tryin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Smirnoff has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Smirnoff!

Smirnoff stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and tryin has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Smirnoff manages to get his head free but now tryin has transitioned to an armbar! Smirnoff grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from tryin! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
