Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thor Hushovd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Karlsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlsen has chosen Home by BZ's as his entrance music. Thor Hushovd had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Thor Hushovd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Kim Karlsen!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hushovd swats away the attempt to clinch by Karlsen.
Karlsen tries to clinch but Hushovd is having none of it.

Karlsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hushovd is looking to escape.
Karlsen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hushovd kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Karlsen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Karlsen wriggles free and stands up.
Karlsen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hushovd paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Karlsen moves into range and clinches up with Hushovd.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thor Hushovd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Thor Hushovd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Karlsen closes the distance and pushes Hushovd back into the cage.
Karlsen tries a knee to the head but Hushovd blocks it.
Hushovd tries to score a body lock takedown but Karlsen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hushovd takes an elbow to the forehead.
Karlsen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hushovd backwards.

Karlsen is pressed up against the cage. Hushovd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Karlsen down to the mat. Karlsen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hushovd shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Karlsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Karlsen has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hushovd defend it? Karlsen steps over the head and cranks it - Hushovd is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Karlsen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kim Karlsen!
