The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
aoki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
aoki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Nelson is surviving well by controlling aoki's body position as best he can.
Nelson gets back to half guard.
aoki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nelson sees it coming and defends easily.
aoki is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nelson is trying to stand back up but aoki is controlling him
Nelson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with aoki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
aoki has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Nelson is desperately trying to improve his position but aoki has a good base and remains in mount.
Nelson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nelson won't allow aoki to pass to mount.

Nelson is trying to get back to full guard.

aoki wants to free his trapped foot but Nelson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
