PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karen Darabedyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darabedyan has chosen KDB Highlights as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Karen Darabedyan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Durden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karen Darabedyan!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden misses with a series of wild punches.

Durden stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Durden wants it to stay on the feet.

Darabedyan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Darabedyan showed some decent athleticism there.

Darabedyan is pressing down on Durden's thigh, looking to free his foot. Durden is holding on for now.
Durden wants to get back to his feet.
Durden wants to control but Darabedyan is keeping busy.
Darabedyan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Darabedyan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Durden with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Darabedyan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Durden throws a left and a right that both miss

and Darabedyan counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Darabedyan gets to his feet. Durden looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Durden stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Durden tries to close the distance and clinch but Darabedyan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Durden slips a jab and a cross from Darabedyan.
Darabedyan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Durden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Darabedyan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Darabedyan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Durden looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Darabedyan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Darabedyan is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Durden is surviving well by controlling Darabedyan's body position as best he can.

Darabedyan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Durden's face.
Darabedyan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Karen Darabedyan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Durden does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
