PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Overdrive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Becker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Becker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Overdrive napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Becker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Becker working away.
Overdrive is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Overdrive tries to strike but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Overdrive is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Becker avoids the strikes from the bottom by Overdrive.
Overdrive tries to bench press Becker off him but Becker keeps the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Overdrive stuffs the takedown.
Becker on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Becker takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Overdrive misses with a hook.

Becker pivots, looking for a leg kick but Overdrive is out of range and Becker settles back down.
Overdrive throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Becker.
Overdrive fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maximus Overdrive is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Overdrive swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Overdrive loads up on a big right hand but Becker slips the punch.
Overdrive lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Becker backs up against the cage.
Overdrive cracks Becker with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Becker tries to clinch up.
A big right from Overdrive misses.
Overdrive loads up on a big right hand but Becker slips the punch.
Overdrive throws a hook to the side of Becker's head but Becker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Becker shoots for a double leg takedown but Overdrive sprawls well. He's pushed Becker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Overdrive with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Overdrive throws a series of punches but Becker avoids them all with ease.
Overdrive thuds his right hand into Becker's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Overdrive lands with an uppercut that bounces Becker off the cage and back into rage.
Becker is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Overdrive throws a nice looking combination but Becker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Overdrive works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Overdrive scores with a nice strike.
Overdrive lunges at Becker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Becker's hand.
Becker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A left and a right from Overdrive both land. Nice combination.
Overdrive cracks Becker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Overdrive is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Overdrive lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Becker is looking to clinch.
Becker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Overdrive but Overdrive pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Maximus Overdrive has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CJ Becker.
Becker looks gassed!
Becker shoots in but Overdrive avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Becker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Overdrive but Overdrive pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Overdrive slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Becker on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Overdrive catches Becker with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Overdrive tests Becker's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Overdrive scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Overdrive cracks Becker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A punch lands to the side of Becker 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Overdrive stalks Becker and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Becker's face. Becker staggers backwards, shaken.
Overdrive lands a glancing blow to the side of Becker's head.
Overdrive fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Becker on the side of the head.
A right-left combo lands from Becker.
Becker walks into a stiff left hand from Overdrive.
Becker walks into a left hand.
Overdrive getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Overdrive scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Overdrive lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Becker is rocked!
Overdrive throws a hook to the side of Becker's head but Becker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Becker is still on wobbly legs! Can Overdrive finish him?
Becker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Becker seems to have recovered his senses.

Overdrive lands with a nice combination. Becker backs away looking to recover.

Overdrive sizes up Becker with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Overdrive drops Becker with a naaaaasty hook - Becker is in real trouble here! Overdrive dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
