The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughs gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Hughs moves away from the strike by Jones.
Hughs fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughs manages to avoid it.
Jones lands a glancing blow to the side of Hughs's head.
Jones checks a leg kick.
Hughs steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Jones is looking to score with low kicks.
Jones on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hughs. Hughs obviously looking to wear him down.
Jones blocks the body kick.
Hughs thows a body shot but no joy.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jones checks a leg kick.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hughs.
Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Hughs is just out of range.
Jones misses with a hook.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones tries to clinch but Hughs moves out of range.

Jones throws a leg kick but Hughs checks it.
Hughs tries to move into range but Jones moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Hughs circles away.
Hughs tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughs.
Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Hughs is just out of range.
Hughs scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hughs pushes Jones away with a front kick.
Jones has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Jones looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones looks to land a left hand but Hughs moved out of range nicely.
Hughs scores with a nice body kick.
Hughs feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down.
Hughs looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Hughs lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hughs throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jones takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hughs thuds his shin into the meat of Jones's side.
Hughs throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Hughs feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jones's calf.
An inside leg kick lands from Hughs.
Hughs keeps Jones at a distance using the push kick.
Hughs throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hughs goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Jones is rocked!
Hughs tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Hughs finish him?
