Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between roy d (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sampsa Pikari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). d comes to the cage accompanied by do it. Sampsa Pikari is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, roy d!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sampsa Pikari!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
d throws a hook but Pikari avoids it easily.
Pikari misses with an uppercut.
Pikari looks to score with a jab to the body but d is just out of range.
d throws an overhand right that lands on Pikari's shoulder, as Pikari tries to avoid the shot.

d gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pikari to score an easy takedown into full guard.
d utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pikari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pikari throws a big right hand that misses.
d trying to keep a closed guard but Pikari is proving a slippery customer.
d is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
d will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pikari will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pikari will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
d misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pikari is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by d.

Sampsa Pikari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

d is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
d fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
d uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pikari.
d will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and d cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
d throws a right and a left that Pikari avoids nicely.

Pikari shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in d's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that roy d will probably get the nod.
That's time! d's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Pikari swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pikari rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but d moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

d displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pikari throws out the jab.

d makes his way to full guard. A much better position for d.
Pikari won't allow d to sweep him here.
Pikari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. d swivels though and keeps the full guard.

d is desperately trying to improve his position but Pikari has a good base and remains in mount.

d wants to control but Pikari is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pikari working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sampsa Pikari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pikari connects with a nice short shot to d's temple.

Pikari is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pikari accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

d looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

d not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to roy d.
I think d has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
