PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fiodor Stavrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis has chosen The Who - Baba O'Riley as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis lands a glancing blow to the side of Stavrov's head.
Donk. Davis catches Stavrov right on the button with a cross.
Davis avoids the body shot from Stavrov.
Stavrov checks a leg kick.
Davis slips under a jab.
Stavrov just misses with a punch to the body.
Davis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Stavrov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Davis throws a nice outside leg kick.

Stavrov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Davis.
Davis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Stavrov.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Davis, as that shot connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stavrov throws a body punch but Davis moves out of range.
Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Stavrov moves out of range easily.
Stavrov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Davis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Davis.
Davis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stavrov.

Stavrov is breathing heavily.
Davis throws a lazy right hand but Stavrov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Stavrov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Davis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stavrov.

Stavrov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Stavrov lands with an uppercut that bounces Davis off the cage and back into rage.

Stavrov steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Davis. That one must have hurt.

Stavrov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Davis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stavrov.
Davis throws a quick inside leg kick.
Davis moves away from the strike by Stavrov.
Stavrov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Stavrov throws the left hand but Davis avoids the punch easily.

Stavrov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Stavrov throws a jab but it's blocked by Davis.

The fighters circling - Stavrov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Davis has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stavrov finds it's way round the side to connect with Davis's head.

Davis is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stavrov had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Stavrov misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Davis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stavrov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

It looks like Craig Davis has been cut.

Stavrov is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Davis looks calm but he's in trouble here. Stavrov gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Davis is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Stavrov lets go of the hold and Davis can pop his arm back in it's socket.
