Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrell Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkov comes to the cage accompanied by The Trooper by Iron Maiden. Vincent Volkov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Terrell Reed's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Terrell Reed!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Reed.
Volkov fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Reed is out of range.
Volkov throws out a leg kick but Reed moves out of range and Volkov only half commits.

Reed gets a clinch.
Reed blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Reed takes a shot to the head.
Reed misses with a short punch on the inside.
Volkov lands with a short shot to the head.
Volkov misses with a hook from the clinch.
Reed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Volkov tries to throw a body punch but Reed avoids it by throwing Volkov back against the cage.

Volkov can't find room to land a body shot as Reed controls the action.

Reed is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Volkov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Volkov has escaped and now he's on top!

Reed has his foot on Volkov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Volkov works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Reed darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Volkov wants to improve his position but Reed is controlling well.

Volkov is not content to let Reed control the position.
Reed looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Volkov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Reed has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Reed is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Volkov is just riding it out for now. Reed eventually gives up the hold.

Volkov lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Reed backwards.
Volkov creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Volkov manages to break the clinch.

and Reed counters with a one-two to the body.

Reed misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
