Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Crocop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Omaly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mirko Crocop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Omaly!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crocop lands with a right hand.


It looks like Mark Omaly has been cut.

Omaly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Crocop sprawls well initially but Omaly persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Crocop blocking the ground and pound attempt from Omaly.
Omaly prevents Crocop from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Omaly in particular looking to stall.
Omaly tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crocop knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Omaly is taking a breather. Crocop says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Omaly is trying to work for a kimura but Crocop is defending well.
Omaly wants to control but Crocop is keeping him busy.
Omaly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crocop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Omaly is thwarting Crocop's attempts to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Omaly has a takedown stuffed.

Crocop throws a head kick that misses.

Omaly takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Crocop is breathing heavily.

Omaly shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Omaly wants to pass the guard but Crocop is keeping the position.

Crocop trying to keep a closed guard but Omaly is proving a slippery customer.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Crocop is on top in guard.
Omaly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Crocop wants to pass the guard but Omaly is keeping the position.

Omaly working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Crocop has passed into half guard!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Crocop postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Omaly to stand up.
Crocop rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Omaly moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mirko Crocop is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Omaly avoids a punch combination nicely.

Omaly closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Crocop is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Crocop looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Crocop is looking for a sweep. Omaly is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Crocop is looking to control Omaly's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Crocop avoid being mounted?
Crocop tries to get to full guard but Omaly has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Omaly bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Crocop pushes Omaly away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Omaly gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Crocop can't do much from the bottom here.
Crocop is trying to get back to his feet.

Omaly decides to stand back up.
Crocop throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mirko Crocop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Omaly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Omaly lands in his opponent's guard.
Omaly is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Crocop looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Omaly is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Omaly trying to control the position from guard on top but Crocop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Crocop is trying to keep Omaly in close.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Crocop has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Omaly can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Omaly drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Crocop gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Mark Omaly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Crocop throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Omaly's head.

Omaly feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Crocop is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Omaly is staying active underneath Crocop, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Omaly wants to control but Crocop is keeping busy.
Crocop throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Omaly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Crocop wants to lay and pray for a moment but Omaly keeps working.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Crocop is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Omaly is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Crocop throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Omaly closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Crocop to the mat! Crocop manages to get full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Crocop is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Crocop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Omaly manages to get himself to full guard.

Crocop stands and steps away. Omaly gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Crocop tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mirko Crocop.
I think Crocop has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
