The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pindegren shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Taktarov is trying to defend but Pindegren finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pindegren is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Taktarov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Taktarov shrugs it off.

Pindegren throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Taktarov was covering up waiting for the punch and Pindegren finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pindegren can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pindegren is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
