The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Piper on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Quik. Quik obviously looking to wear him down.
St Piper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Good work by Quik as he checks the leg kick.
St Piper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Quik paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Quik stuffs the takedown.
St Piper takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Quik lands a right hook to the body.
St Piper thows a leg kick but Quik checks it
and Quik counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gene St Piper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quik misses with a wild combination.
Quik circles away from the clinch attempt
and Quik counters with a thumping low kick.
St Piper looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quik ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Quik takes a swing at St Piper's ribcage but misses.
Quik lands a straight punch to the body, keeping St Piper at a distance.
Quik stuns St Piper with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Quik lands a body shot.
St Piper needs to keep his hands up - Quik had a free shot at his head there.
Jamal Quik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Quik connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
St Piper is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
St Piper loses concentration momentarily and Quik pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! St Piper crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Quik finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
