The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kisaragi closes the distance and clinches up with Equinox, looking for a takedown. Kisaragi pushes Equinox against the cage but Equinox circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Equinox tries to close the distance and clinch but Kisaragi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kisaragi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Equinox just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kisaragi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Equinox walks away with a smile on his face. Kisaragi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
John Equinox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Kisaragi.

Horrible takedown by Kisaragi or perhaps it was just good defense by Equinox which made him look bad.
