PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolaj Orlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragnar Vedhult (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vedhult has chosen Swedish army orchestra - Beneath our banner as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orlow with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Vedhult drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Vedhult is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Orlow is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Orlow is doing well to control the position and prevent Vedhult from advancing to side control.
Vedhult thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Orlow's head.

Orlow seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Orlow got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vedhult has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Orlow has managed to get both his arms back between Vedhult's legs - danger averted.

Vedhult has his foot on Orlow's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Orlow works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Orlow throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Vedhult fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Orlow looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Vedhult swings around for an armbar but Orlow sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vedhult's guard.

Orlow is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vedhult is just riding it out for now. Orlow eventually gives up the hold.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Orlow has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vedhult is working away from the top position though.
