Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zach Irracha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Severus Cero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zach Irracha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Severus Cero!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Irracha gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cero to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Irracha keeping moving, preventing Cero from controlling successfully.
Irracha tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cero wants to control from the top but Irracha keeps moving.
Irracha will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cero has Irracha up against the cage in a clinch.

Irracha throws a sloppy head kick and Cero moves out of range easily.

Cero tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Irracha can't escape the position.
Cero thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Cero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Irracha. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cero tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Irracha wants to hold on but Cero pushes him away.
Irracha is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Irracha throwing hammer fists to the chest of Cero. What's that going to do exactly?
Irracha tries to lock up and control but Cero gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Irracha can't escape the position.
Irracha is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Irracha wants to hold on but Cero pushes him away.
Irracha is squirming around, avoiding Cero's attempts to control the action.
Poor strikes thrown by Cero there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
BOOM! Cero connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Cero goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Irracha turns into him and now he's in Cero's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Irracha passes Cero's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Cero is trying to control but can't.
Irracha is looking to take a break and control but Cero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cero wants to get back to full guard.
Irracha content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Severus Cero dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Irracha misses with an uppercut. Cero saw that one coming.
Irracha wants to clinch.
Irracha defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cero.
Irracha wants to slow Cero down by chopping away at his legs.
Irracha scores with a head kick.
Cero thows a leg kick but Irracha checks it
and Irracha counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Cero is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Irracha shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Irracha showed some decent athleticism there.
Irracha throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Cero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Irracha pulls his head out easily.
Cero is refusing to be controlled, as Irracha sits in half guard.

Cero trying to get back to full guard but Irracha takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Cero really wants to buck Irracha off and get back to his feet.

Irracha is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cero is surviving well by controlling Irracha's body position as best he can.
Cero is squirming around, avoiding Irracha's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cero tries to reverse the position but Irracha maintains control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cero bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Cero tries to free his leg and advance position but Irracha is retaining full guard.
Irracha not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Irracha looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cero looking to sit in guard and control but Irracha gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cero pulls Irracha in close to prevent any damage.

Cero controls Irracha momentarily but Irracha frees himself.

Cero throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Irracha misses with a low kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Irracha.

Cero bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Cero decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Cero is breathing heavily.
Irracha throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cero darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cero tries to pass the half guard into mount. Irracha knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zach Irracha dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Irracha.
Irracha tries to clinch but Cero moves out of range.

Cero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cero lands in his opponent's guard.

Irracha is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cero is aware though and is defending well.
Irracha is looking to stand up but Cero isn't so interested in that idea.

Cero trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Irracha manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Irracha lands a nice looking body kick.
Irracha throws a head kick but Cero moves out of range.
Zach Irracha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cero slips under a jab from Irracha.
Irracha wants to clinch up but Cero keeps it at a distance.
Irracha clinches but Cero breaks the clinch

so Cero counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Irracha trying to control the position.
Irracha is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cero is controlling him.

Irracha looking to control.
Irracha wants to stand but Cero is controlling the position.
Cero not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cero advances position into side control!
Irracha is trying to control Cero's posture but Cero avoids it.
Cero looking to control but instead Irracha has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Irracha looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Severus Cero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
