Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamey Jasta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martinez comes to the cage accompanied by Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling. The crowd seem to be enjoying Jasta's choice of entrance music: Smash Your Enemies. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Jasta throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jasta throws a body punch but Martinez moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jasta is defended easily by Martinez.

Jasta creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Martinez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Martinez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jasta is looking to take a break and control but Martinez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Martinez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jasta is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Martinez still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Martinez has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Jasta escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martinez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jasta isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Martinez stacks Jasta on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Martinez!
