Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keizo Sawaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bogie McGill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sawaki comes to the cage accompanied by 'Kodo' by The Yoshida Brothers. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keizo Sawaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bogie McGill!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sawaki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGill.
Decent striking displayed by Sawaki there.
Sawaki circles away from the clinch attempt.

McGill closes the distance and clinches.
Sawaki working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Sawaki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sawaki scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Sawaki stuffs the takedown attempt from McGill. McGill gets slowly back to his feet.
McGill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sawaki as he avoids it easily.
Keizo Sawaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bogie McGill.
McGill misses with a takedown attempt - Sawaki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McGill is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sawaki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sawaki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McGill is trying to defend but Sawaki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
McGill is pressing down on Sawaki's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

McGill is trying to control the position but Sawaki postures up.

McGill is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sawaki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McGill is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McGill has escaped and now he's on top!
McGill stands and throws Sawaki's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McGill throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Sawaki gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sawaki regains full guard. Nicely done.

McGill postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sawaki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGill, into his guard.

McGill has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sawaki is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McGill.
McGill looks gassed!

Sawaki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGill, who protects the arm well.

McGill manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Sawaki regains full guard. Nicely done.
McGill working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McGill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sawaki is proving hard to escape from.

Sawaki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGill is aware though and is defending well.

McGill avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGill passes Sawaki's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Keizo Sawaki dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sawaki throws a hook but McGill blocks it.
Sawaki just misses with a punch to the body.
McGill keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sawaki.

McGill tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sawaki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
McGill is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McGill is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sawaki off and has taken his back!
McGill gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

McGill is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sawaki has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Sawaki trying to control the action but McGill just sinks the hooks in.

McGill is looking for a kimura but Sawaki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGill to get the leverage.
McGill not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Sawaki wants to control but McGill is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McGill thows a huge punch but Sawaki dodges it nicely.
Sawaki is pressing down on McGill's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGill advances to half guard.

McGill is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sawaki defends it well.
Sawaki keeping hold of McGill's head, controlling as best he can.
Sawaki slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Sawaki looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sawaki is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sawaki prevents McGill from standing back up.

Sawaki is working for a submission of some sort.

Sawaki seems to be working for a kimura but McGill defends the submission attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Keizo Sawaki will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

McGill is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sawaki is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bogie McGill!
