Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Firefly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Caschera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Caschera has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Caschera!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Firefly fails with a takedown attempt.
Firefly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Caschera but Caschera pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Firefly throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Caschera on the side of the head.
Firefly connects with the punch.

Caschera drives through and clinches with Firefly against the cage.
Caschera is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Firefly gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Caschera lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Caschera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Caschera swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Caschera tries for a takedown but Firefly sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Caschera just misses with a punch to the body.
Firefly lands with a right hand.

and Caschera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Firefly tries to roll over but Caschera keeps him under control.
Caschera throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Firefly looking for submissions off his back.

Firefly is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Caschera pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Firefly makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Firefly digs a good hook to Caschera's body.
Caschera tries to clinch up
and Firefly counters with a three punch combo that has Caschera backing up. Caschera nods at Firefly to acknowledge the strikes.
Firefly could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Caschera decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Firefly is trying to stand up here but Caschera is controlling him well.
Firefly is breathing heavily.
Firefly blocking the ground and pound attempt from Caschera.
Caschera working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Firefly is trying to stand up here but Caschera is controlling him well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caschera is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Caschera decides to stand and escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Firefly is looking for a sweep.
Caschera works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Firefly is rocked!
Firefly tries to improve position but can't.
Oh Firefly is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Firefly struggling a bit here.
Caschera scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Firefly to see if he's OK.
Caschera cracks Firefly with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Firefly takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Caschera decides to stand back up.
Caschera throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Firefly crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
