Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kai Roe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Roe keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Roe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Roe showed some decent athleticism there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Roe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cain sprawls well. Cain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Roe gets slowly back to his feet.
Roe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cain's waist but Cain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roe off to one side.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Roe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Roe lands in his opponent's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cain is on top in guard.
Cain tries to free his leg and advance position but Roe is retaining full guard.
