Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brij Khali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jack michelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). jack michelson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brij Khali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, jack michelson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

michelson gets the takedown into side control.
Khali regains half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

michelson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Khali wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Khali has michelson pressed against the cage.

Khali gets through michelson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Khali takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but jack michelson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like jack michelson has been cut.
michelson fails with a takedown attempt.
Khali is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by michelson.
Khali has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Brij Khali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for michelson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Khali throws a nice looking combination but michelson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

michelson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - michelson lands in his opponent's guard.

Khali is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if michelson can do anything to dispel that myth.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
michelson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khali. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
michelson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Khali looking to break michelson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. michelson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Khali will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Khali's corner calls for a 1-2. Khali obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Horrible takedown by michelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Khali which made him look bad.

michelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Khali keeps working.

michelson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Khali is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! michelson rolls with it to try and escape but Khali cranks on the arm and michelson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
