PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Drone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by t.i and ludacris-wish you would. Gabriel Walker had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tyson Drone!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Drone sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Drone keeps the fight on the outside.
Walker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Drone avoids it really well and circles away.
Walker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drone pinned against the cage. Drone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walker shoots in for a double leg but Drone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drone circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drone drops back looking for a leg! Walker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walker manages to kick Drone off! Drone jumps back into Walker's guard.

Walker is looking for a sweep.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Walker misses with a takedown attempt

and Drone counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Walker is breathing heavily.

Drone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Walker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Drone.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Drone sees it coming and defends easily.

Walker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Drone is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Walker pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Walker wants to take a breather but Drone is having none of it.

Drone with the active half guard here but Walker passes nicely into side control.
Walker has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Walker stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Walker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Drone counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tyson Drone dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Drone is squirming around, avoiding Walker's attempts to control the action.
Walker lands with some strikes.
Walker is landing with some decent strikes but Drone is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Drone is desperately trying to improve his position but Walker has a good base and remains in mount.

Walker jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Drone manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Drone tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Walker has hold of Drone's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Drone manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Walker wants to take his opponent's back but Drone doesn't allow it.

Drone gets back to half guard.
Walker wants to pass to mount but Drone is defending the position.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Drone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well.
Walker trying to control but Drone is working from the bottom.

Walker stands and steps away. Drone gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Drone feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Drone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Walker connects with a nice short shot to Drone's temple.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Drone closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Walker has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Drone uses from the top position.
Drone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

I would just about give that final round to Tyson Drone.
Well Drone has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
