Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between MAX SWAGGER (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). SWAGGER comes to the cage accompanied by Crawl/ Kings of Leon. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, MAX SWAGGER!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Wagner!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagner dodges the punch combination from SWAGGER.
SWAGGER moves out of range of the strikes.
Wagner avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Wagner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
SWAGGER takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A big left from Wagner misses.

SWAGGER gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Wagner has gone for a leg lock! SWAGGER slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wagner's guard.
SWAGGER pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wagner is keeping the position for now.

Wagner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. SWAGGER defends it easily.
SWAGGER is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
SWAGGER postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
SWAGGER wants to stand but Wagner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
SWAGGER stopping the sweep attempt from Wagner.
SWAGGER trying to control but Wagner is working from the bottom.
SWAGGER looking to sit in guard and control but Wagner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wagner trying to control but SWAGGER is working from the bottom.

Wagner has gone for a leg lock! SWAGGER slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wagner's guard.
SWAGGER passes into half guard.
Wagner is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of SWAGGER's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take SWAGGER's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wagner doesn't have the hooks in and SWAGGER manages to turn into his guard.
SWAGGER working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

SWAGGER got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wagner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, SWAGGER has managed to get both his arms back between Wagner's legs - danger averted.
SWAGGER wants to control from the top but Wagner keeps moving.
Wagner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
SWAGGER is looking to stand up but Wagner won't let him.
SWAGGER trying to control the position from guard on top but Wagner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wagner looking to hit a scissor sweep but SWAGGER is one step ahead there.
Wagner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
SWAGGER misses with a double jab
letting Wagner counter with a right hand.
SWAGGER blocks a jab.
Wagner fails with a takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Wagner.
Wagner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but SWAGGER manages to avoid it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wagner throws a big shot that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kurt Wagner dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Wagner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
SWAGGER is not content to let Wagner control the position.
SWAGGER manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wagner's best efforts.

Wagner is working for a submission of some sort.

Wagner is sneakily working for an arm triangle but SWAGGER sees it coming and defends easily.
SWAGGER is looking to improve his position.

Wagner wants to pass to mount but SWAGGER is defending the position.
Wagner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wagner wants to pass the guard but SWAGGER is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wagner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wagner is breathing heavily.
SWAGGER preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wagner shoots in looking for a takedown. SWAGGER tries to sprawl out of it but Wagner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. SWAGGER manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wagner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wagner falls off balance throwing a combination
and SWAGGER counters with a right hand to the body.
Wagner misses with a combination
and SWAGGER counters with a big head kick but Wagner shrugs it off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
SWAGGER takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wagner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and SWAGGER cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A big left from Wagner misses.
SWAGGER throws a series of punches but Wagner moves out of range.
Wagner slips under a jab.
SWAGGER misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wagner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts SWAGGER as he jumps to the side.
Wagner throws a shot from downtown. SWAGGER moves away and avoids it.
Nice defenses there by SWAGGER.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
MAX SWAGGER has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurt Wagner.

Wagner shoots for a double leg takedown but SWAGGER sprawls well. He's pushed Wagner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

SWAGGER ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

and Wagner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
MAX SWAGGER is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wagner throws a sloppy body shot
and SWAGGER counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wagner has his takedown stuffed
and SWAGGER counters with a head kick. That will keep Wagner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

SWAGGER throws a right and a left that Wagner avoids nicely.
SWAGGER lands with an overhand left.

SWAGGER leaves Wagner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and SWAGGER counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kurt Wagner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
SWAGGER on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
SWAGGER tries to bum rush Wagner with a series of wild strikes but Wagner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wagner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and SWAGGER counters with a left and a right that stings Wagner.
Wagner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wagner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wagner lands a nice hook to SWAGGER's body. SWAGGER takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
SWAGGER misses with a few strikes there.
MAX SWAGGER is winning the standup battle so far.

Wagner misses with a hook. SWAGGER ducked under it nicely.
Wagner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but SWAGGER swivels and escapes.
Wagner throws a shot from downtown. SWAGGER moves away and avoids it.
Wagner might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

SWAGGER lands a head kick. Wagner smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
