Doherty comes to the cage accompanied by You can't stand me now. Pete Doherty has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doherty moves away.

Doherty has closed the distance and engaged Boyett in a clinch.

Boyett breaks from the clinch.
Boyett misses with the combination.
Boyett keeps the fight on the outside.
Boyett jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nice defenses there by Doherty.
Boyett misses with a few strikes there.

Doherty shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Doherty showed some decent athleticism there.
Boyett tries to get to full guard but Doherty has control of the leg.

Doherty is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boyett is just riding it out for now. Doherty eventually gives up the hold.
Doherty wants to pass to mount but Boyett is defending the position.

Boyett is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Doherty jumps into side control!

Doherty goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Boyett has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Doherty but great work by Boyett.
Doherty is looking to regain half guard here but Boyett keeps moving and retains side control.

Boyett stands up.
Boyett will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Doherty dodges the punch combination from Boyett.
Boyett throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Doherty.
Doherty blocks a jab.
Boyett misses with a few strikes there.
Doherty wants to clinch up but Boyett keeps it at a distance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Doherty tries to clinch up but Boyett circles away and keeps his distance.
Boyett is looking to land body kicks.
Boyett throws a head kick but Doherty moves out of range.
Boyett wants to clinch but Doherty slips to the side
and Doherty counters with a body kick.
Boyett keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doherty looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Boyett throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Doherty cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boyett looks gassed!
Doherty throws the kick towards the body but Boyett avoids it.
Doherty goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Boyett throws a head kick but Doherty moves out of range.
Doherty shoots in but no luck this time.
Doherty avoids a punch combination nicely.
Good shot there by Doherty.
Doherty tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boyett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Doherty looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Boyett misses with a combination

and Doherty counters with a nice double leg into side control. Boyett won't be happy with that.
Boyett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doherty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Doherty looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Boyett is avoiding damage well.
Boyett wants to control but Doherty postures up.
Doherty cracks Boyett with a big right hand but Boyett just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Boyett prevents Doherty from moving into mount.

Doherty is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boyett has escaped the position, nice work there.
Boyett manages to work his way to half guard, despite Doherty's best efforts.
Doherty wants to pass the guard but Boyett is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doherty is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Boyett won't allow Doherty to pass to mount.

Doherty is looking for a kimura but Boyett is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Doherty to get the leverage.
Doherty trying to pass the guard but Boyett defending well.

Doherty is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doherty is trying for a kimura here. Boyett looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Doherty wins by kimura!
