Steeves takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Barros makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Barros.

Steeves is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Barros has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Steeves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Steeves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steeves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Steeves postures up in Barros's guard and throws a big left but Barros blocks it.

Barros is looking for a triangle but Steeves pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Steeves is looking to advance position but Barros has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
