Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Mont Alvernne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zgwina Toure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Mont Alvernne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zgwina Toure!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mont Alvernne gets a takedown into half guard.

Mont Alvernne wants to work for an arm triangle but Toure is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mont Alvernne is trying to control. Toure wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mont Alvernne decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Toure tries to clinch up.
Nice sprawl there from Toure as Mont Alvernne shoots in.
Toure with a poor takedown

and Mont Alvernne counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mont Alvernne accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mont Alvernne drops back looking for a leg! Toure is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Toure manages to kick Mont Alvernne off! Mont Alvernne jumps back into Toure's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mont Alvernne stands and throws Toure's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mont Alvernne is trying to get an arm triangle but Toure is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Mont Alvernne dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Mont Alvernne closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Mont Alvernne looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mont Alvernne is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Mont Alvernne is working for a submission of some sort.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mont Alvernne is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Mont Alvernne dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Mont Alvernne fails with the takedown.
Mont Alvernne shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Toure sprawls well. Toure wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mont Alvernne gets slowly back to his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mont Alvernne lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Toure has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Toure and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Toure thows a body shot but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mont Alvernne shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Toure sprawls well. Toure wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mont Alvernne gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Mont Alvernne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Toure tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mont Alvernne was well out of range. Poor timing from Toure.

Mont Alvernne thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zgwina Toure has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Charlie Mont Alvernne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mont Alvernne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
