The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitrione instigates a clinch.
McBrain gets underhooks to prevent Mitrione's takedown attempt.
Mitrione drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Mitrione. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mitrione tries to score a body lock takedown but McBrain shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mitrione has McBrain pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McBrain manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mitrione goes for a takedown attempt but McBrain pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mitrione shoots in for a double leg but McBrain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mitrione tries to score a power double leg takedown but McBrain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mitrione somewhat.
McBrain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mitrione shoots in looking for a takedown. McBrain tries to sprawl out of it but Mitrione keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McBrain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mitrione is breathing heavily.
McBrain throws a right hand that Mitrione ducks under and follows up with a left that Mitrione also avoids with ease.

McBrain cracks Mitrione with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McBrain has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mitrione to stand back up!

Mitrione is rocked!
Mitrione misses with a takedown attempt - McBrain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Oh Mitrione is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McBrain lands with a big right hook that stumbles Mitrione - he's out on his feet here! McBrain follows up with another monster hook that separates Mitrione from consciousness! Mitrione falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! McBrain stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
