Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sampsa Pikari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Karlsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Karlsen's choice of entrance music: Home by BZ's. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sampsa Pikari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Kim Karlsen!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsen is looking to clinch but Pikari is avoiding it.
Pikari ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Karlsen shoots for a double leg takedown but Pikari sprawls well. He's pushed Karlsen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pikari defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Karlsen.
Karlsen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pikari stuffs the takedown.
Sampsa Pikari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Karlsen.
Karlsen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Karlsen dives in and grabs Pikari's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pikari pushes down on Karlsen's head and hops out.

Karlsen doesn't manage to clinch there - Pikari circles away.

Kim Karlsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pikari fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Karlsen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Karlsen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Pikari uses it to pass to side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Pikari changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Karlsen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karlsen has a hand on Pikari's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Pikari takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Pikari is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Karlsen is looking to advance position but Pikari has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pikari cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Pikari is landing with some decent strikes but Karlsen is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
