The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams closes the distance and clinches.
Williams tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Mac escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Williams avoids the body shot from Mac.
Williams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mac moves out of range of the body kick from Williams.
Mac throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease.
Mac lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Mac blocks a low kick nicely.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Williams is rocked!
Williams walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Williams is still on wobbly legs! Can Mac finish him?

and Mac counters with a nice uppercut.
Mac looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range.
Williams misses with a lunging right hand
and Mac counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Mac counters with a series of strikes. Williams will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mac takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Williams seems to have recovered his senses.
Mac throws a right and a left that Williams avoids nicely.

Mac gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mac will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mac is trying to escape back to his feet but Williams uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mac is pushing Williams's head away, looking to escape. Williams manages to hold on to the position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mac is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Mac throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Williams stumbling backwards into the cage! Williams bounces back off the cage towards Mac, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Mac lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Mac celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
