PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Augie March (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rampager Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Augie March!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rampager Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
March showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson shoots in but no luck this time.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

March changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jackson tries to escape but March is in control.
March tries to move to mount but Jackson blocks the move with his legs.
March trying to control the position but Jackson is working away.
Jackson keeping his opponent close.
Jackson wants to control but March postures up.
March cracks Jackson with an elbow. That is naaassty.

March stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but March swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

March darts in and clinches Jackson up against the cage.

March is breathing heavily.

March drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and March jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

March is fighting to break Jackson's control of his arms but Jackson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jackson gets caught flat footed, as March shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

March is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

March wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

March throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

March is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

March manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now March is on top in guard.

March is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

March is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Augie March dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


March circles away from the clinch attempt
and March counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

March forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches.
Jackson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
March jumps guard but Jackson stands there with March around his waist. March gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jackson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but March has him pressed against the cage.
March prevents Jackson from breaking the clinch.
March tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jackson smiles and moves away.
March is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson.

March darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

March wants to work for an arm triangle but Jackson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
March wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
March working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

March wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.

March postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jackson to stand up.
Jackson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and March counters by moving into the clinch.
Jackson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
March tries for a takedown but Jackson manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Augie March. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jackson is trying to break the clinch but March has him pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as March takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

March has his hands on Jackson's head, controlling the position.

March has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jackson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
March changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but March manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rampager Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by March.
Jackson throws a jab when March was well out of range.
Jackson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jackson.
March slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but March swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson lands a lovely overhand right.
Jackson misses with the combination.
A combination from Jackson does no damage.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jackson lands a hook that stumbles March back into the cage. Jackson follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping March to the canvas! Jackson pounces and lands several unanswered shots - March has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Rampager Jackson!
