Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Qing Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Impaler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kong comes into the arena with PRIDE blaring out of the sound system. Vlad Impaler is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vlad Impaler!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Impaler throws a looping overhand right but Kong ducks down to avoid it.
Impaler closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kong circles away.
Impaler blocks a head kick by Kong.
Impaler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Kong instigates a clinch.
Impaler is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Qing Kong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Impaler.
Kong lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Vlad Impaler has been cut.

Kong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Impaler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kong stands up from Impaler's guard - Kong perhaps looking for a knockout.
No joy there for Impaler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kong slaps away a takedown attempt from Impaler, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Impaler fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kong lands a nice hook to Impaler's body. Impaler takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Impaler shoots for a takedown but Kong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Impaler throws a head kick but Kong moves out of range.
A good leg kick by Kong.
Nice takedown defense from Kong. No joy for Impaler on that attempt.
Impaler looks gassed!
Impaler takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kong throws a quick inside leg kick.
Impaler shoots in looking for a takedown. Kong tries to sprawl out of it but Impaler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kong lands a head kick. Impaler smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Impaler stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kong.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kong lands a jab to the nose.
Kong connects with a right hand. Impaler shakes it off.

Impaler is rocked!
Kong digs a good body shot into Impaler's ribs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kong connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kong chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Impaler takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kong fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Impaler.
Vlad Impaler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kong. That's going to slow Impaler down.
Qing Kong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Whack! Kong lands a heavy head kick that drops Impaler. The ref tackles Kong to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Impaler was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Qing Kong!
