Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taka Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin comes into the arena with Soilwork - Rejection Role blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fuujin manages to avoid it.
Tanaka dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fuujin lands a right hook to the body.
Tanaka swings for the body but Fuujin moves out of range.

Tanaka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fuujin gets caught flat footed, as Tanaka shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tanaka postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fuujin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tanaka, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tanaka throws a body punch but Fuujin moves out of range.

Fuujin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tanaka's hands.

Taka Tanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Shinichi Fuujin will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shinichi Fuujin will probably get the nod.

A swing and a miss from Tanaka.
Fuujin fails to land with a series of punches.
Fuujin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tanaka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fuujin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Tanaka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fuujin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tanaka throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Fuujin escapes and throws Tanaka's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Tanaka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fuujin is trying to get an arm triangle but Tanaka is defending well.
Shinichi Fuujin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tanaka manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Still in half guard, Tanaka seems content to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shinichi Fuujin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fuujin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
