Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Ewing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ewing comes to the cage accompanied by B.o.B. - Created A Monster. Gracie has chosen Shook Ones II as his entrance music. Gustavo Gracie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raul Ewing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gustavo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ewing throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ewing.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ewing.
Ewing misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ewing fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gracie is out of range.
Ewing scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ewing misses with a jab, cross combination.

Ewing closes the distance and clinches.
Gracie takes a knee right on the jaw!
Ewing stalling the fight.
Gracie is trying to break the clinch but Ewing has him pressed against the cage.
Ewing lands a body punch in the clinch.

Ewing breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ewing feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gracie's calf.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Ewing sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Ewing tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ewing manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ewing throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Ewing scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ewing connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Ewing throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie closes the distance and lands a one-two.
A shot to the body from Gracie misses

so Ewing counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ewing accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ewing wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Ewing is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ewing wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ewing goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Ewing.

Ewing instigates a clinch.
Ewing looking to throw knees to the head but Gracie is blocking nicely.
Ewing works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Ewing manages to break the clinch.
Ewing doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Ewing lands a head kick. Gracie smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
A nice leg kick lands there from Ewing.

Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ewing.

Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ewing counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Ewing is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Ewing is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gracie is looking to control Ewing's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ewing. Gracie does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ewing slips a jab and a cross from Gracie.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ewing counters by clinching up.
Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Raul Ewing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Gracie.
Ewing unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gracie lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Ewing crunches a lovely knee into Gracie's ribcage.

Ewing drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gracie gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but Ewing pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ewing tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Ewing.
Ewing throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ewing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ewing moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.

Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but Ewing pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gustavo Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Raul Ewing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Gracie.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ewing was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ewing works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ewing manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Ewing in his guard.

Ewing wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.
Ewing postures up.

Raul Ewing is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ewing is aware though and is defending well.

Gracie has his foot on Ewing's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ewing works his way back into a safe position though.

Ewing stands up from Gracie's guard - Ewing perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ewing throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gustavo Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ewing has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
