The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
al Rashid looks to score with a jab to the body but Doherty is just out of range.
Doherty throws an overhand right that lands on al Rashid's shoulder, as al Rashid tries to avoid the shot.
A bone on bone clash there as Doherty blocks the leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from al Rashid misses the target.
Doherty connects with a right hand. al Rashid shakes it off.
al Rashid throws a hook to the side of Doherty's head but Doherty sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
