Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Oppelaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yves Depret (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dennis Oppelaar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yves Depret!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Depret throws a leg kick but Oppelaar checks it.

Oppelaar gets tackled into the cage by Depret. Depret maintains the clinch.

Depret manages to break the clinch.
Depret fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oppelaar is looking to clinch but Depret is avoiding it.

Depret drives through and clinches with Oppelaar against the cage.
Oppelaar is pushing Depret up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Depret prevents a takedown attempt there.
Oppelaar throws a head punch that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Depret's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Oppelaar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Depret avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Depret tries to circle away but Oppelaar has him pinned against the cage.
Oppelaar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Depret walks away with a smile on his face. Oppelaar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Oppelaar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Depret lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Depret.

Depret clinches up against the cage.
Oppelaar keeps control of Depret as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Depret scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Depret stops a takedown attempt from Oppelaar.
Depret on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Depret is pressed up against the cage. Oppelaar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Depret down to the mat. Depret avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Depret wants to clinch.
Oppelaar keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Depret throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Oppelaar.

Oppelaar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Depret sprawls well initially but Oppelaar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Depret tries to kick Oppelaar off but Oppelaar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Depret really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oppelaar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oppelaar thows a big elbow that misses.
Oppelaar wants to pass the guard but Depret is keeping the position.

Oppelaar drops back looking for a leg! Depret is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Depret manages to kick Oppelaar off! Oppelaar jumps back into Depret's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Oppelaar drops back looking for a leg! Depret is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Depret manages to kick Oppelaar off! Oppelaar jumps back into Depret's guard.
Oppelaar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oppelaar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yves Depret dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Depret stuffs the takedown.
Depret throws a low kick but Oppelaar avoids it.
Oppelaar fails with a takedown attempt.
Oppelaar shoots in looking for a takedown. Depret tries to sprawl out of it but Oppelaar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Depret manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Depret doesn't manage to clinch there - Oppelaar circles away.
Depret throws a nice looking combination but Oppelaar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Oppelaar lands a nice hook to Depret's body. Depret takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Oppelaar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Depret wants to get back to his feet but Oppelaar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Oppelaar wants to pass the guard but Depret is keeping the position.
Oppelaar wants to control from the top but Depret keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Depret wants to stand but Oppelaar is controlling the position.

Oppelaar is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Depret is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Depret has escaped and now he's on top!

Oppelaar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Oppelaar looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Oppelaar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Depret has worked his arm free - good work by Depret!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oppelaar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oppelaar creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Depret sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Oppelaar dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Oppelaar fails to land the takedown.
Depret scores with a push kick.
Oppelaar takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Oppelaar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Depret's guard now.
Depret wants to stand but Oppelaar is controlling the position.

Oppelaar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Oppelaar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Depret is looking to stand up but Oppelaar isn't so interested in that idea.
Oppelaar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Depret is keeping the position for now.
Depret wants to get back to his feet but Oppelaar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Depret is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Oppelaar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Oppelaar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Depret swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oppelaar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Depret wants to clinch

and Oppelaar counters with a single leg into guard. Depret didn't expect that.

Oppelaar postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Depret is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Oppelaar, into his guard.
Oppelaar throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Oppelaar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Depret is one step ahead there.
Depret would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oppelaar wants to sweep but no luck.
Oppelaar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Depret is controlling him.
Depret wants to stand but Oppelaar is controlling his posture from full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dennis Oppelaar showed his dominance in that final round.
