Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ninja Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Nutter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon Nutter acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ninja Steele!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brandon Nutter!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steele drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nutter wants to stand up but Steele is controlling him.
Nutter is looking to sweep but instead, Steele has passed into half guard.
Nutter is trying to maintain the position but Steele is very close to passing his half guard.

Steele is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nutter is just riding it out for now. Steele eventually gives up the hold.
Nutter is trying to get back to full guard.

Steele seems to be working for a kimura but Nutter defends the submission attempt.

Steele is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nutter defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steele content to control rather than advance.
Steele wants to take a breather but Nutter is having none of it.
Steele stops Nutter from getting back to his feet.
Nutter is trying to control but can't.
Steele is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nutter!
Nutter wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Nutter is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nutter working to try and regain half guard.
Nutter tries to hold on but Steele pushes him away.
Steele punching from mount but Nutter doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Nutter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steele. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nutter is trying to escape the mount.
Steele looking to finish Nutter with some ground and pound. This is bad for Nutter!
Steele trying to control but Nutter is having none of it.
Nutter is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Nutter looks gassed!

Nutter holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Steele tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Steele working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Nutter is bucking up trying to escape but Steele cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Nutter wants to hold on but Steele pushes him away.
Steele prevents Nutter from getting the reversal.
Nutter is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Steele looking for a guillotine from mount but Nutter is having none of it.
Nutter wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nutter can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Steele thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Steele controlling the position easily from mount.
Steele misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steele looking to secure an arm triangle but Nutter defends it well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Steele throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nutter because Steele loaded up on that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ninja Steele dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Nutter with a lazy takedown attempt

so Steele counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Steele is looking to work some ground and pound but Nutter has wrist control.
Nutter wants to sweep but no luck.
Nutter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Steele postures up in Nutter's guard and throws a big left but Nutter blocks it.
Steele loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Nutter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nutter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steele accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nutter is looking to stand up but Steele isn't so interested in that idea.
Nutter is breathing heavily.
Steele looking to pass the guard.

Steele prevents Nutter from getting back to his feet.
Steele is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nutter lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nutter moves away from the strike by Steele.
Nutter tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Steele counters with a single leg into guard. Nutter didn't expect that.
Nutter is trying to keep Steele in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nutter keeping moving, preventing Steele from controlling successfully.
Steele won't allow Nutter to sweep him here.

Nutter keeping full guard, as Steele tries to pass.
Steele working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Nutter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Steele.
Steele has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Steele in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Nutter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Steele manages to pass to side control.
Nutter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Steele.
Nutter wants to control but Steele is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Steele performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Nutter wants to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nutter moves away from the strike by Steele.
Nutter misses with the combination.
Steele missing with a left hand there. Nutter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Steele slips a straight right by Nutter.
Steele misses with an uppercut. Nutter saw that one coming.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Steele bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Steele decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Steele is nestled in close to Nutter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Nutter tries to get to full guard but Steele has control of the leg.

Steele is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nutter defends it well.
Nutter tries to kick Steele off in order to stand up. Steele Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Steele creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Steele looks up at the clock and then as Nutter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Steele smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Steele tries to score with some ground and pound. Nutter controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Nutter looking for a sweep but Steele has passed into full mount! Oh no!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ninja Steele dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Nutter throws a hook but Steele blocks it.
Nutter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Steele counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Steele prevents Nutter from getting back to his feet.
Nutter is trying to keep Steele in close.
Steele throwing strikes but missing.
Nutter keeping moving, preventing Steele from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Steele drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nutter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nutter is trying to hold Steele in close to prevent damage but Steele has managed to pass into half guard.

Steele is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Steele is trying to control the action in half guard but Nutter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Steele not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Steele throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Nutter wants to get back to his feet.
Steele is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nutter!

Steele thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Steele throwing strikes here but Nutter is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Steele landing strikes from the mount.
Nutter tries to lock up and control but Steele gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Nutter is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Steele can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nutter is looking to escape.
Nutter can't escape the position.
Steele looking to control but Nutter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Steele with a couple of short strikes.

Steele with shots to the head and body - Nutter looks very uncomfortable down there.
Nutter is looking to get to half guard.
Steele unloads with some shots from mount but Nutter bucks and avoids them well.
Nutter tries to buck Steele off but he can't manage it.

Brandon Nutter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Steele throws some wild stikes that Nutter manages to avoid easily.
Ninja Steele is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Ninja Steele showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Steele, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
