PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Killa Bee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Lavronenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Lavronenko told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Killa Bee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Lavronenko!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bee.
Bee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lavronenko sprawls well. Lavronenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bee gets slowly back to his feet.
Lavronenko blocks a head kick by Bee.
Killa Bee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lavronenko throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bee's head.
Bee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bee shoots in and bounces Lavronenko off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lavronenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lavronenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bee moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lavronenko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lavronenko lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bee down.

Lavronenko is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bee's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bee takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Lavronenko creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Lavronenko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lavronenko connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bee some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Lavronenko dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lavronenko lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lavronenko.
Bee tries to close the distance and clinch but Lavronenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lavronenko misses the shot to the body.

Bee has had enough of the clinch but Lavronenko keeps him there for the moment.

and Lavronenko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bee's knee momentarily.
Lavronenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lavronenko lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Killa Bee has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lavronenko has Bee up against the cage in a clinch.
Bee tries to land knees in the clinch but Lavronenko avoids the damage to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nice body punch from Lavronenko - that landed with a thud.

Lavronenko has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bee is trying to keep an underhook but Lavronenko manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Lavronenko is nestled in close to Bee, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
