Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tap Out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vitor Belfort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tap Out!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belfort drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Out manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Belfort wants to get back to his feet.
Belfort on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Out uses his free foot to push down on Belfort's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Belfort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Out unloading with bombs!
Out breaks from Belfort's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Out fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Out landing strikes from the mount.
Out blocks Belfort's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Out working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Out looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.


Belfort is rocked!
Belfort is trying to stand.
Out scoring with strikes but Belfort is staying in there.
Out with shots to the head and body - Belfort looks very uncomfortable down there.

Out working for a guillotine from mount but Belfort is in no mood to give up.
Out looking to finish Belfort with some ground and pound. This is bad for Belfort!

Out with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Belfort's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Out looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Out punishing his opponent with strikes.

Out has control of Belfort's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Belfort regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Out looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Belfort sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Belfort wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Out winds up and cracks Belfort with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Belfort has one foot on Out's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Belfort has a takedown stuffed.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Belfort enables Out to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Belfort manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Out working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Belfort's head.

Belfort is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Out is aware though and is defending well.
Belfort can't keep his opponent in guard - Out advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Out looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Out connects with a nice short shot to Belfort's temple.

Belfort is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Out scores with a couple of nice shots.
Belfort tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Out scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Out working the head and body with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Out gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Belfort misses with a takedown

and Out counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Out looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Belfort has hold of Out's hands but Out slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Out looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Belfort avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Out.
The fighters are battling for position here. Belfort manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Belfort will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Out takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
Belfort scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Out trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Out thows a big elbow that misses.
Out working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Belfort striking off his back, scoring a few points.
Belfort striking off his back but it's not causing Out any problems.
Belfort has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Belfort doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Out keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Belfort's head.
Out lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Belfort is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Belfort throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Out lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Out is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tap Out dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Belfort misses with a takedown attempt

and Out counters with a shoot takedown. Belfort fights it but they end up in guard.

Out drops back looking for a leg! Belfort is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Belfort manages to kick Out off! Out jumps back into Belfort's guard.
Out works over Belfort with some ground and pound from guard.
Out trying to control but Belfort is working from the bottom.
Out landing with the ground and pound.
Out looking to pass the guard.

Out avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Belfort working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Out doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Out manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Out's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Belfort is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Belfort tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Out is working Belfort over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Out slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Belfort is looking to reverse the position.

Out has an Americana. Belfort didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Out is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Out hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
