The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duran changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Fizzlesticks fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Fizzlesticks closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Still in half guard, Fizzlesticks seems content to control.
I looks like Fizzlesticks might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Twiddle Fizzlesticks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Duran bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Duran might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fizzlesticks pulls Duran in close to his closed guard and prevents Duran from doing any damage or advancing position.

Let's hope that Fizzlesticks has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
