Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alistair Overeem!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Overeem shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Overeem finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
King wants to get back to his feet.

and Overeem counters with a nice double leg into side control. King won't be happy with that.
Overeem has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Overeem is staying tight to King's torso, preventing him from escaping.
King pushes Overeem away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Overeem gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Overeem lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
King is in a horrible position here. Overeem smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Overeem throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Overeem misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Poor strikes thrown by Overeem there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Overeem unloads with some shots from mount but King bucks and avoids them well.
Overeem can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as King is looking to escape.

Overeem shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Overeem's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

King stalks Overeem and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Overeem's face. Overeem staggers backwards, shaken.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

King closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - King lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alistair Overeem will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Overeem lets loose with a powerful body kick. King will feel that in the morning.

and Overeem counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
King lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Alistair Overeem has been cut.

Overeem will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

King fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Overeem manages to avoid it.
Overeem is breathing heavily.
King scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

King is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Overeem is in big trouble! King is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Overeem. Poor guy.
