Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yogi Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Sol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Viktor Sol has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yogi Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Viktor Sol!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear connects with an inside leg kick.
Sol slips a jab from Bear.
Sol doesn't manage to clinch there - Bear circles away.
Bear pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sol is out of range and Bear settles back down.
Sol fails with the takedown.
Sol showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bear.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sol fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Sol misses with a looping left.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sol fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bear missing with a left hand there. Sol was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bear has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bear there as he acknowledges the shot.
Sol thows a body shot but no joy.
Sol shoots in and drives through. Bear sprawls well.
Yogi Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viktor Sol.
Bear connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sol's hands.
Sol tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bear throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bear fails to land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sol throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bear's waist but Bear gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sol off to one side.

Sol throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bear was covering up waiting for the punch and Sol finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sol throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bear is on top in guard.
Bear wants to control from the top but Sol keeps moving.

Sol preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bear throws a strike but Sol rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bear keeping moving, preventing Sol from controlling successfully.
Sol is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sol trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Viktor Sol was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Sol uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bear.

Sol misses with a wild body shot.

Sol shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bear as he jumps to the side.
Bear swats away the attempt to clinch by Sol.
Sol looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Sol bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Sol closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sol tries to score with some ground and pound. Bear controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sol is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Sol misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Bear takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bear managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sol.

Bear is not content to let Sol control the position.
Bear is trying to improve his position.

Viktor Sol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sol fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Bear gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sol to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Sol is fighting to break Bear's control of his arms but Bear is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Bear can't keep his opponent in guard - Sol advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Sol thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bear's head.
Bear is staying active underneath Sol, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sol throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bear regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bear preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sol content to stall in guard here.
Bear keeping moving, preventing Sol from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sol postures up in Bear's guard and throws a big left but Bear blocks it.

Sol shoots in for a takedown but Bear shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sol fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sol bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A low kick from Bear misses
and Sol counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bear's knee momentarily.
Viktor Sol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bear throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sol.
Sloppy strikes from Sol. Those never looked like landing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sol ducks under a wild hook from Bear.
Bear throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sol has a takedown stuffed.
Yogi Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viktor Sol.
Bear throws a leg kick
and Sol counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sol steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bear.
Sol cracks the inside of Bear's front leg.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bear throws a lazy right hand but Sol sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bear closes the distance and clinches up with Sol, looking for a takedown. Bear pushes Sol against the cage but Sol circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Viktor Sol comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sol has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
