And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carwin to the mat! Carwin manages to get full guard.

Carwin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Emelianenko is aware though and is defending well.
Emelianenko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Carwin can't keep his opponent in guard - Emelianenko advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Carwin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Carwin wants to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fedor Emelianenko wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Nice defenses there by Carwin.
Emelianenko takes a swing at Carwin's ribcage but misses.
No joy there for Emelianenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carwin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Emelianenko avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Carwin lands a slapping body shot.

Emelianenko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Emelianenko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carwin is not content to let Emelianenko control the position.

Emelianenko thows a huge punch but Carwin dodges it nicely.

Emelianenko misses with a head shot. Carwin uses the momentum to regain guard.
Emelianenko passes Carwin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Carwin wants to improve his position but Emelianenko is controlling well.

Emelianenko is trying for a kimura here. Carwin looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Emelianenko wins by kimura!
