Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Desper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Sarsola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adrian Desper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leo Sarsola!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desper misses with a straight left.
Sarsola on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Sarsola looks gassed!
Desper throws a wild body kick that Sarsola sees coming a mile off.
Sarsola avoids the head kick by Desper.
Desper connects with a high kick.


It looks like Leo Sarsola has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Desper fails with a takedown attempt.
Desper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sarsola avoids it really well and circles away.
Desper lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Desper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sarsola shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sarsola was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sarsola cracks Desper with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Sarsola unloads with some shots from mount but Desper bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Desper wants to control but Sarsola is having none of it.
Desper is bucking up trying to escape but Sarsola cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Sarsola throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Desper because Sarsola loaded up on that one.
Desper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sarsola on the ground.
Sarsola throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Desper tries to lock up and control but Sarsola gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Desper is squirming around, avoiding Sarsola's attempts to control the action.
Poor strikes thrown by Sarsola there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Desper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Desper tries to bum rush Sarsola with a series of wild strikes but Sarsola uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Desper swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sarsola sizes up Desper with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
No joy there for Desper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Adrian Desper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Desper shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sarsola counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Desper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Desper pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sarsola cracks Desper with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Sarsola counters with a series of strikes. Desper will be more careful next time no doubt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are battling for position here. Sarsola manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sarsola is on top in guard.

Sarsola not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sarsola seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Desper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sarsola is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sarsola's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Sarsola has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
