Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fred Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw has chosen Body Head Bangerz - Can't Be Touched as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Shaw!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw throws an overhand right that lands on Boyle's shoulder, as Boyle tries to avoid the shot.
A big left from Shaw misses.
Boyle misses with a head kick.
Boyle throws a shot from downtown. Shaw moves away and avoids it.
Boyle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shaw circles away.
Shaw misses with a body shot.
Shaw dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Shaw lands a slapping body shot.
Boyle dives in and grabs Shaw's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shaw pushes down on Boyle's head and hops out.

Boyle throws a jab when Shaw was well out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Boyle misses the target.
Shaw wants to clinch.
Shaw is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boyle.
Don Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A looping hook to the body misses from Shaw. Boyle does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boyle shoots in for a takedown but Shaw shows good takedown defense.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boyle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Boyle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shaw looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shaw looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shaw!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Shaw must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fred Boyle.
I think Shaw has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
