Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franck Pompi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan el culo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pompi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is French National Anthem. el culo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cuban National 305 Anthem. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pompi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. el culo quickly recovers to half guard.
Pompi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pompi tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Pompi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

el culo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pompi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. el culo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

el culo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pompi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pompi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pompi stands up and waves to el culo to follow him.
A combination from el culo does no damage.
Pompi shoots for a double leg takedown but el culo sprawls well. He's pushed Pompi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
el culo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Franck Pompi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pompi got a little sloppy there for a moment and el culo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pompi has managed to get both his arms back between el culo's legs - danger averted.

el culo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pompi's face.
el culo wants to control the pace but Pompi is squirming around nicely.
el culo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pompi looks a forlorn figure.

el culo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pompi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but el culo is tightening it up a little... Pompi has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pompi reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pompi taps out! nice BJJ there by el culo!
