The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mankiw fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Puncharello.
Puncharello keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Puncharello tries to bum rush Mankiw with a series of wild strikes but Mankiw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mankiw shoots in but Puncharello avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Puncharello's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mankiw connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Puncharello scrambles back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mankiw fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Puncharello looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Puncharello lands with a kick to the temple. Mankiw shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Mankiw is rocked!
Mankiw drops his hands momentarily. Puncharello doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Mankiw staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Mankiw doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
