The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loughlin swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The fight stays on the outside here - Loughlin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Loughlin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sephiroth counters with a stiff right hand.
Sephiroth tries to close the distance and clinch up but Loughlin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zidane Sephiroth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Loughlin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Loughlin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sephiroth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Loughlin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Loughlin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sephiroth seems to have recovered his senses.
Loughlin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Sephiroth looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sephiroth throws an off balance right hand
and Loughlin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sephiroth steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Loughlin.
Loughlin throws a body punch but Sephiroth moves out of range.
Sephiroth rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Loughlin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sephiroth swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Loughlin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Loughlin throws a body punch but Sephiroth moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sephiroth cracks Loughlin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Loughlin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sephiroth, pushing him back against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Loughlin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Loughlin pushes Sephiroth back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Sephiroth misses with a hook to the ribs.
Loughlin scores with a hook to the body.
Loughlin digs a right hand into Sephiroth's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sephiroth's gas tank.
Still in the clinch, Loughlin scores with a nice short uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Loughlin dips a shoulder and cracks Sephiroth with a mighty uppercut! Sephiroth falls back against the cage and Loughlin unloads with a barrage of strikes! Sephiroth is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Loughlin screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
