The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick misses with a body punch
and Kanerva counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Quick throws a leg kick
and Kanerva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Quick is looking to clinch.
Kanerva paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Quick throws a head kick but Kanerva moves out of range.
Kanerva looks to land a combination but Quick avoids it well.
Quick darts in trying to clinch
and Kanerva counters with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kanerva connects with a right hand. Quick shakes it off.

It looks like Joe Quick has been cut.
Quick throws a sloppy head kick and Kanerva moves out of range easily.
Quick throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Quick avoids the body shot from Kanerva.
Kanerva looks to land a combination but Quick avoids it well.
Kanerva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kanerva blocks a head kick by Quick.
Kanerva misses with a looping right.
Quick throws a leg kick but Kanerva sees it coming and moves out of range.
Quick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kanerva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Quick closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kanerva counters with a left and a right that stings Quick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Kanerva checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Quick is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kanerva lands a nice hook to Quick's body. Quick takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kanerva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Quick doesn't seem bothered though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kanerva drops Quick with a beautiful combination! Quick stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kanerva is looking for the KO!

Quick takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Kanerva cracks Quick with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kanerva has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Quick to stand back up!
Quick is still on wobbly legs! Can Kanerva finish him?
BOOM! Kanerva lands a beautiful left hook that drops Quick. Quick tries to recover but Kanerva is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Quick lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
