Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bj Paninii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phi Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bj Paninii has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bj Paninii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phi Cho!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cho drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Cho working the ground and pound but Paninii is defending the strikes.
Paninii is looking to reverse the position.
Paninii is trying to control Cho's posture but Cho avoids it.

Cho decides to stand up, so the ref orders Paninii to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Cho has Paninii up against the cage in a clinch.
Paninii tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cho just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cho lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Cho pressing his opponent against the cage.
Paninii takes a shot to the head.
Paninii tries to pull guard but Cho holds him up against the cage and eventually Paninii drops back down to his feet.

Cho escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bj Paninii is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paninii missing with a left hand there. Cho was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Paninii slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Cho throws a predictable looking body shot
and Paninii counters with a left and a right that stings Cho.
Cho scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cho tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paninii swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cho shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Paninii is trying to defend but Cho finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Paninii really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Paninii is pressing down on Cho's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paninii swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cho trying to control the position from guard on top but Paninii is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cho sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paninii keeping moving, preventing Cho from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cho trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Phi Cho.
Cho rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Paninii counters with a stiff right hand.
Cho missing with a left hand there. Paninii was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cho looks to land a left hand but Paninii moved out of range nicely.
Cho throws a shot from downtown. Paninii moves away and avoids it.
Paninii wants to clinch

and Cho counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cho tries to free his leg and advance position but Paninii is retaining full guard.

Cho stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Paninii throws up his legs and catches Cho in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Cho tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Paninii! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Bj Paninii!
