PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Connor Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gage Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryant has chosen Hicktown by Jason Aldean as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson shoots for a takedown but Bryant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gage Bryant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bryant won't be happy with that.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Bryant. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Bryant is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Bryant gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Bryant gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Bryant apologises and we restart here on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Bryant is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bryant has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jackson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bryant.
